Horsethief Butte

This is a short trail down the road from the Dalles Mountain trail head (about 14 miles on Route 14 past the Route 97 junction) on the South side if the road. You can see the butte from the road. If you head around the butte to the west and come round the south face the climb is easier. This whole area is ripe with good climbing spots, but the hike itself is very easy. From the top of the butte you have views of Mount Hood to the west.
