Oregon and California Coast
As part of my move to San Francisco I took a few days (7/2/09 - 7/6/09) to drive down the Oregon and California coasts. Why take I-5 when you can have leisurely drive down US 101 and US 1? If you have the chance there is tons to see on both coasts, though I would say that the Oregon coast as a series has more to offer the sightseer.

Cape Arena California. This is a lighthouse run by the Coast Guard. I didn't feel like paying the $7.50 to head out onto the cape, so this is a close as you're going to get.
